Interested in enrolling your child for an one-on-one tutoring service at the comfort of your home?
Our services include:
Preparation and collection of supporting materials that are specifically designed for the abilities and capacity of the students.
Adaptation of the educational curriculum to the abilities of the children. This involves organizing the resources in a way that is easier to understand for differently wired minds. It also includes ensuring that the work is challenging enough to prevent boredom, but not so challenging that the child becomes discouraged.
Selection of appropriate teaching strategies, including teaching at a slower pace than in traditional classes. Starting the lesson with an achievable goal is one such strategy, as it motivates the child and increases their willingness to attempt more demanding tasks.
Organization of teaching materials to provide multi-sensory learning, interesting methods of learning, and engaging colours, images, and themes.
Engage in some fun educational activities every Saturday!
We use the 5E's learning method: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and evaluate.
Engage: Engaging students through exciting and drawing their curiosity, not forcing them to learn. We create lessons which are interesting enough to open their minds and make them willing to learn.
Explore: To enhance learning, after engaging students with a video or book, allowing them to explore the concept is crucial. For example, students could play a game related to the lesson such as finding various colored strings in the grass. This exploration phase gives learners the opportunity to practice their new knowledge and discover answers to questions through trial and error.
Explain: Answering students' questions and observing what needs to be clarified or taught is crucial. As an example, with a camouflage lesson, students pick strings of different colors and count them to make a chart. This helps them notice that green blends with grass, making it harder to see, while other colors like purple stand out more.
Elaborate: The extension activities provided to students can be used for differentiation, with students above level needing elaboration and those below level needing re-teaching. For example, during a lesson on camouflage, elaboration may include discussing other animals that use camouflage, while re-teaching may involve reviewing charts to correct misunderstandings.
Evaluate: Assessing student learning after teaching through various methods such as a project, reflection, book report, or model. Traditional quizzes or essays are not the only options. For example, students can create a unique assignment illustrating five facts they learned. A rubric is used to grade the assignment and identify areas that need to be retaught.
